Its Friday!

For a moment there I was worried this post wasn’t going to go out on time. I have been so busy lately crafting has kind of taken a back seat but I think I am finally back on track. Tonight I will be at a workshop hosted by my sister, I am nervous and excited at the same time 🙂

As it is friday that means its time for my entry to this weeks Freshly Made Sketches.

Here is this weeks sketch

There are a lot of cool cards I can make with this sketch but as Easter is coming up I wanted to use a really cute stamp set called For Peep’s Sake. I adore this stamp set and there are so many ways to use it and it it may come up in a lot of demonstrators post in the build up to easter.

Enough of my gushing and on to my card…

Isn’t it cute?

To make it I halved a sheet of old olive vertically and folded this in half for the base. I then cut two strips of whisper white a little wider that half an inch and stamped some cute little eggs in crushed curry to form a repeating pattern that was then fixed to either side of the card. For the central piece I stamped a chick on whisper white also in crushed curry and punched it out with the 2″ circle punch.

The sentiment is printed on whisper white in old olive and fixed to the circle with dimensionals. The banned behind the circle is a piece of crushed curry card that i cut by hand it is fixed to the card using dimensionals and the circle is then placed in the center of the banner with dimensionals.

All in all it was a very quick card to make an could be easily replicated in a workshop or with children. I also think that because I haven’t actually used an easter sentiment that this card could be give on any occasion.
