Hi and welcome to a Pootler’s Blog Hop. On this blog hope we will be showcasing some of the gorgeous new products from the new annual catalog that launched on 2nd of June. When you’re done perusing my site click on the button at the bottom of the post to head to the next post in the hop.
One of my favorite products out of the new catalog has been the I Think You’re Great stamp set and to show how fab it is I have created a little mini card collection to display its versatility. The stamp set consist of 5 stamps; three uniquely shaped sentiment stamps and 2 patterned stamps and what’s interesting about this stamp set is that it was designed with the kissing technique in mind. What that means is you take your sentiment ink it up and then press it to one of the patterned stamps to create a unique effect when you stamp your sentiment. This technique has been around for a long time so it’s nice to see new unique stamps being inspired by it.
To show off this wonderful stamp set I have created four 4×4 cards. I chose this size as it was perfect size to get out of a 12×12 piece of whisper white card stock. I could of gone for 3×3 but I thought it may have been too small for what I wanted to show.
So for the first card I started off simple and stamped one of the patterned stamps inked in Delightful Dijion straight onto the whisper white card stock. I then layered two strips of Tip Top Taupe envelope paper over the stamped image, I wanted to show of the different patterns on each side. For the sentiment I inked it in Cucumber Crush and just fussy cut it out and mounted on top of the strips of envelope paper using a dimensional.
Another simple card for you again. This time I have used a piece of Tip Top Taupe card stock and stamped that other patterned stamp in the center using Tip Top Taupe ink. I then wrapped some white baker’s twine round the middle of the card stock then mounded this to the white base using dimensional. To finish the card off I added a Hi cloud stamped in Mint Macaron.
For this next card I used so Cucumber Crush card stock and a piece of Cherry On Top DSP then stamped the I think You’re Great stamp in Watermelon Wonder and applied the kissing technique to this stamp using one of the patterned stamps. I was trying to go for a unique edge effect with the Cherry On Top DSP but I think I covered it up to much with the sentiment.
This final card is one of my favorites. I have layered a piece of the stripy Tip Top Taupe Envelope paper on top of some Watermelon Wonder card stock and stuck this to the base card. I then used some white baker’s twine to offset the sentiment that was stamped in Watermelon Wonder, I also used the kissing technique on this stamp too. After this point I still felt the card was missing something so I added a few flowers punched from the left over Watermelon Wonder card stock and added some rhinestones to their centers.
This stamp set I just one of the fabulous new stamps available in the new annual catalog and you can bet I will find ways of combining it with other stamps and projects so be sure to come back some time. Let me know in the comments which card design was your favorite.
Thanks for stopping by, come back again soon and don’t forget to check out the next blog post in the hop.
So this weeks card turned out completely different from the one I had originally intended to make. For a start the base card was going to be Lost Lagoon but when I placed my piece of basic black on top the black just didn’t seem enough. So I sat there for a good hour using different bits of colored card to see what else would work and did I want on layer two layers and what stamps did I want to use. Its been a while since I was this stumped on what to put on a card. Then quite by accident I found that Tip Top Taupe and Lost Lagoon look really good together and suddenly I had an Idea of how I wanted my card to look.
So here it is
Think I managed to pull a masculine card out of the bag with this one. For the happy on the black I used the Hello You thinlit dies on a pre-cut piece of Basic Black and then removed the smaller happy (going to use that for something else) and I was left with this nice big happy message I could layer over a pattern of some sort.
Said pattern that you can see behind the happy was created using one of the stamps from Gorgeous grunge inked in Lost Lagoon and stamped repeatedly on Lost Lagoon cardstock. To finish the card off I added a few stars to the front of the card and added the word birthday using a stamp from Crazy About You, versmark and white embossing powder.
If you haven’t seen it already here is this weeks sketch.
And here is mine.
I just love bright cards and this week my card is showcasing some of the new products that will be available in the new catalog that comes out on the 2nd of June.
So the base is Tip Top Taupe cardstock which is one of the new in colors and the DSP I have used is called Cherry On Top and features some of the new in colours in the paper as well as some from other colour collections but it’s absolutely wonderful and is one of my favourites from the new catalog.
The butterflies are made using the butterfly basics framelits but the paper I used for the bigger butterfly is also from a new product which is envelope paper and comes in all of the new in colours and the little butterfly is cut from Watermelon Wonder cardstock.
As for the sentiment it is stamped in Cucumber Crush (new in colour) and it is from this years RMHC stamp set and it is absolutely adorable and is called Sprinkles Of Life and you can make cupcakes and ice creams and clouds and baskets of flowers and trees it such a versatile stamp set and I think it will be hugely popular when everyone sees it.
Now you may have noticed that I didn’t post anything on friday or sunday this wasn’t because I didn’t have anything ready it was more because I couldn’t bring myself to write anything for them. I occasionally have those day where I don’t feel like doing anything and unfortunately my enthusiasm for my blog took a hit but today everything is back to sunshine and rainbows and today I am bringing you a special card.
Why is it special? Its special because I finally took the plunge and used some of my new in color card stock! Its so nice I didn’t want to use it.
The card design is based on one I found in a magazine us demonstrators get once a month. The design in question originally used a polka dot tag a bag gift bag as the base and the butterfly was strawberry slush card stock. So the new in colors that I have used instead of the original brown and pink are Tip Top Taupe for the card base and Watermelon Wonder for the butterfly.
I really love the new in colours these are just a few but come back soon to see the rest.
