Hello and welcome to a Pootle’s blog hop for the autumn/winter 2015 catalogue. There are some absolutely gorgeous stuff in this year’s fall catalogue, plenty to suit everybody’s tastes. I had to restrain myself from buying all of it! Plenty of bundles this time round too, like stamp sets with framelits and a really nice stamp set that comes bundled with a punch. There is also some really beautiful designer series paper too.
The things I am showcasing in my project are based around stuff that can be found on page 42 and 43 which are ‘Thankful Forest Friends’ and ‘Into The Woods Designer Series Paper’. There is also a coordinating cardstock pack for the ‘Into The Woods’ paper that is on the same page. The cardstock pack contains Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Soft Suede.
I love simple quick cards and that’s what I have for you today, three small simple cards that use a little bit of DSP, some stamping and a little bit of baker’s twine.
The cards I have made are from one sheet of A4 Rich Razzleberry and measure 3 1/2″ x 7″. This one has a square of Old Olive cut to 3″ x 3″. Now my favourite part of the card has to be the bear, I think it’s adorable and I really wanted it to look like it was holding that ‘for’. The Thankful For You is all from Thankful Forest Friends and I have just used the brights stampin write markers to colour each word then stamp.
This card I tried to layer different bits of DSP at jaunty angles to give it some interest, I’m not sure how well it worked but I do like the way the lettering turned out. For that I used my brights markers again colouring half the word in Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie. Pumpkin Pie isn’t actually used in this DSP, I think it is actually Tangelo Twist but I still think it works because of the earthy autumn/fall tones.
I think this last card is my favourite as it is layered so nicely and that bit of Daffodil Delight looks lovely against the Rich Razzleberry, not to mention that adorable little fox just popping of the card! I think I could of just done a whole series like this one and just changed the colours but kept the layering style the same and it still would of been a nice series of cards.
What’s your favourite product from this year’s Autumn/Winter catalogue? Leave me a comment below and let me know.

So for a couple of months I took some time out from my craft blog as I was getting a little stressed with work and learning to drive along with a multitude of other things that I wont bore you with. Needless to say my crafting suffered because of this and I just lost interest in posting all together but I think I have finally got my mojo back and I am ready to start posting again and to kick things off I have to decided to do a post every day this week all based around one single stamp set. After that things will go back to my three times a week schedule but I will be posting what every project I feel like on those day rather than trying to force a particular theme out like always birthday card this day and a 3d project this day.
So the stamp set I will be showcasing is the That Thing You Did” and the card that I made is cased right out of the catty on page 97 where you can find the stamp set, and yes I have made all three of these and over the next few days I will describe how I made each one. The cards are so cool looking I thought each one deserved its own post.
Up first is the Hello Honey vintage card.
I think this card is the one I found most tricky due to that lovely white center piece. I had no idea how to cut that the right shape. I am sure there is some easy way of doing but to start with I actually drew on the card base to figure out how wide I wanted it and the angle I wanted it then I cut a piece of whisper white to fit the desired shape that I drew out.
I then stamped on the white it in hello honey. Now in the catty that colour looks really bright but in reality it is a little darker. Thats professional photography for you. The blue used on this card is Lost Lagoon and I love this colour but this also looks darker than the catty version, maybe I’m just using too much ink? Anyway the card is really easy after this point so give it a go with your favourite colours and let me know how it turns out.
Hi and welcome to a Pootler’s Blog Hop. On this blog hope we will be showcasing some of the gorgeous new products from the new annual catalog that launched on 2nd of June. When you’re done perusing my site click on the button at the bottom of the post to head to the next post in the hop.
One of my favorite products out of the new catalog has been the I Think You’re Great stamp set and to show how fab it is I have created a little mini card collection to display its versatility. The stamp set consist of 5 stamps; three uniquely shaped sentiment stamps and 2 patterned stamps and what’s interesting about this stamp set is that it was designed with the kissing technique in mind. What that means is you take your sentiment ink it up and then press it to one of the patterned stamps to create a unique effect when you stamp your sentiment. This technique has been around for a long time so it’s nice to see new unique stamps being inspired by it.
To show off this wonderful stamp set I have created four 4×4 cards. I chose this size as it was perfect size to get out of a 12×12 piece of whisper white card stock. I could of gone for 3×3 but I thought it may have been too small for what I wanted to show.
So for the first card I started off simple and stamped one of the patterned stamps inked in Delightful Dijion straight onto the whisper white card stock. I then layered two strips of Tip Top Taupe envelope paper over the stamped image, I wanted to show of the different patterns on each side. For the sentiment I inked it in Cucumber Crush and just fussy cut it out and mounted on top of the strips of envelope paper using a dimensional.
Another simple card for you again. This time I have used a piece of Tip Top Taupe card stock and stamped that other patterned stamp in the center using Tip Top Taupe ink. I then wrapped some white baker’s twine round the middle of the card stock then mounded this to the white base using dimensional. To finish the card off I added a Hi cloud stamped in Mint Macaron.
For this next card I used so Cucumber Crush card stock and a piece of Cherry On Top DSP then stamped the I think You’re Great stamp in Watermelon Wonder and applied the kissing technique to this stamp using one of the patterned stamps. I was trying to go for a unique edge effect with the Cherry On Top DSP but I think I covered it up to much with the sentiment.
This final card is one of my favorites. I have layered a piece of the stripy Tip Top Taupe Envelope paper on top of some Watermelon Wonder card stock and stuck this to the base card. I then used some white baker’s twine to offset the sentiment that was stamped in Watermelon Wonder, I also used the kissing technique on this stamp too. After this point I still felt the card was missing something so I added a few flowers punched from the left over Watermelon Wonder card stock and added some rhinestones to their centers.
This stamp set I just one of the fabulous new stamps available in the new annual catalog and you can bet I will find ways of combining it with other stamps and projects so be sure to come back some time. Let me know in the comments which card design was your favorite.
Thanks for stopping by, come back again soon and don’t forget to check out the next blog post in the hop.
For this weeks project I decided to have a go at making those cute tote bags everyone has been making but because I am so frugal with my supplies I wanted to get the most out of my paper so I made some mini tote bags with the help of the lovely Bibi Cameron and her wonderful video.
I love her video the process is so simple and easy to understand and it only uses one sheet of DSP for each bag, Embellishments require more of course but to make the initial shape you will just need a sheet of DSP that is 6 x 6 which is fantastic as that is the exact size of the new paper stacks. You can also make four from one 12 x 12 DSp which is great if you want to make lots for a party favors.
For me I made these lovely three below.
One of them is an impostor!
Yes I know very naughty of me to use a DSP that is no longer available but I had some left over and it was my test one and it turned out so well I posted it with the others. The other two are made from the new Cherry on Top DSP. If you have seen my Tuesday post then you know how much I love this paper stack and why it was the perfect choice for this project. One thing I will suggest is use a strong glue like Fast Fuse or Tombo as I used Snail at the time and they kept popping open.
If you have any suggestions for my next 3D project let me know in the comments below.
Today is the official launch day of the new catalog woooo!
There are so many great products in the new catalog and I want them all, I only wish I had a bank account to accommodate this haha. One of my favorite products has to be the paper stack Cherry on Top it has such cute designs that works well on any project one of which is the card I am showcasing today.
The card in question is actually a case of one on page 7 of the new catty that showcases a new stamp set Sprinkles on Top. I love this stamp set its cute and simple and I love the hand written happy birthday stamp.
The background paper is one of the ones from Cherry on Top and so are the donuts. See the original card uses the donut stamp from the Sprinkles on Top stamp set but I don’t have it instead I punched out 4 donuts from another sheet of Cherry on Top DSP. Such great paper I love it! The two strips in the middle are Cherry on Top washi tape matching paper and washi tape and coordinating coloured cardstock does it get any better?
The sentiment is two stamps from Crazy about you stamp set and yes thankfully that one and the Hello You thinlits are staying and the bundle too. The sentiment is also stamped in Cucumber Crush one of our new in colours, its actually a lot brighter than it looks in the picture and coordinates perfectly with the Cherry on Top paper, something I love about Stampin Up product coordination.
I am going to have so much fun with all these new products and I hope you do too.
If you haven’t seen it already here is this weeks sketch.
And here is mine.
I just love bright cards and this week my card is showcasing some of the new products that will be available in the new catalog that comes out on the 2nd of June.
So the base is Tip Top Taupe cardstock which is one of the new in colors and the DSP I have used is called Cherry On Top and features some of the new in colours in the paper as well as some from other colour collections but it’s absolutely wonderful and is one of my favourites from the new catalog.
The butterflies are made using the butterfly basics framelits but the paper I used for the bigger butterfly is also from a new product which is envelope paper and comes in all of the new in colours and the little butterfly is cut from Watermelon Wonder cardstock.
As for the sentiment it is stamped in Cucumber Crush (new in colour) and it is from this years RMHC stamp set and it is absolutely adorable and is called Sprinkles Of Life and you can make cupcakes and ice creams and clouds and baskets of flowers and trees it such a versatile stamp set and I think it will be hugely popular when everyone sees it.
